WILLARD - A week after earning a hard fought 6-2 win over Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic, the Gibsonburg offense got things rolling once again as it now heads into the post-season on a seven game winning streak.
Addison Weaver finished with two touchdown runs, two touchdown passes, and two interceptions for the Golden Bears as Willard fell to 5-5 on the season with a 46-18 loss at home.
Weaver pushed across the goal line with 7:25 left in the first quarter to hand the Golden Bears an 8-0 lead.
Willard responded on its next possession as Jarett Sowers pounded his way to a touchdown on a two yard run less than two minutes later to cut Gibsonburg's lead to 8-6.
The Golden Bears (9-1 overall, 7-0 SBC River), River Division champions, scored the game's next four touchdowns and held a 34-6 lead early in the third quarter.
Weaver, who finished with 11 rushing yards, scored on a five yard touchdown run to end the first quarter scoring.
In the second quarter, Jesse Arriaga caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Weaver and Brad Mendoza added a 30-yard touchdown reception from Weaver for the Golden Bears' two second quarter touchdowns.
Theo Hernandez busted loose for a 70-yard touchdown run in the third to give Gibsonburg a comfortable four score lead.
Hernandez finished with 151 yards on 12 carries to lead Gibsonburg on the ground.
Weaver finished the contest with 67 passing yards on 2-of-6 passing.
For Willard, Cooper Parrott racked up 146 rushing yards and 103 passing yards.
