FREMONT - Anthony Wayne and Toledo Notre Dame went stride for stride during Saturday's Norm Bray Invitational hosted by Fremont Ross at Walsh Park.
The Generals finished just points ahead of the Eagles for the team title.
Notre Dame Academy had the top three finishers behind Lauren Mick (18:36.6), Emily Vining (19:39), and Madeline Vining (19:43.9).
Despite the Eagles' outstanding performance, Anthony Wayne boasted the fifth thru eighth place runners to earn the team title.
Led by Ana Karmol (20:59.8), Ella Karmol (21:11.9), Kylie Sahloff (21:13.4), and Elly Yoder (21:14.1) the Generals overcame the Eagles.
Fremont Ross's McKayla Elder finished in the middle of the Eagles' and Generals' pack and took fourth with a time of 20:22.4 as the Little Giants finished sixth overall.
