CLYDE - It's only the first week of the girls' High School tennis season, but Clyde hosted Oak Harbor in the first round of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Tournament on Tuesday.
After dropping its opening contest against Fremont Ross on Monday, Clyde rebounded by topping Oak Harbor by a score of 3-2 behind the strength of its doubles' teams.
Megan Barrett and Hali Hagenmeyer teamed up in second doubles' action to earn a 6-1, 6-1 win over Bailey LaFountain and Haley Hess.
On the other doubles' court, Mary Wilkerson and Emma Strudthoff were victorious with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Mya Lenke and Vivian Kunkle.
The Rockets won at first and second singles as Chloe Duquette scored a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Clyde's Lakotah Cagle and Addi Hasselbach netted a 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 win over Siera Hisey.
At third singles, Madi Bannister bested Christine Arent 6-2, 6-1 as Clyde moves to 1-1 overall on the season.
The Rockets, who finished second on Saturday at the Springfield Invitational, are 0-1 overall.
Oak Harbor will return to action Wednesday with a road trip to Fostoria.
Clyde will next be in action on Thursday as it travels to Port Clinton.
