Sailors Slip by Oak Harbor

OAK HARBOR - Three weeks ago the Oak Harbor baseball team traveled to Vermilion and knocked off the Sailors in a 3-0 shutout victory.

On Wednesday, the Rockets didn't favor so well as the Sailors returned the favor at Oak Harbor High School by posting an 8-5 victory to improve to 15-5 (8-1 SBC Bay) on the season.

Vermilion's Ridge Clark won his fourth game of the season on the mound as his submarine side arm style provided enough support to propel the Sailors to victory.

A.J. Showalter knocked two hits off Clark for Oak Harbor, including a double and and RBI while Spencer Segaard added a double and an RBI as well as he picked up two hits as well.

Hunter Lacer and Aric McAtee each added hits for the Rockets (7-8 overall).

For Vermilion, Mason Montgomery led the Sailors with a pair of doubles while driving in two runs.

The Rockets are slated to play at Old Fort on Thursday.
