Eagles Pitching No-Hits Danbury

Monroeville - The key to Monroeville's success is in its pitching.
On Friday, the Eagles moved to 8-0 on the season as Carley Helmstetter and Payton Scheid teamed up to no-hit Danbury in a 10-0 victory.
Helmstetter pitched 3.2 innings and struck out nine batters while Scheid recorded three strike outs in an inning of work.
Meanwhile, Monroeville's offense methodically put up runs in four of its five innings at bat to record ten runs on ten hits.
Helmstetter and Ashlyn Tommas each had two hits as Tommas belted two doubles and Helmstetter legged out a double of her own.
Alexandria Carper, who went 1-for-2 with a walk, scored two runs as did Paige Schafer who also went 1-for-2 at the plate.
