OAK HARBOR - Willard's Haylie Hamons launched a first inning home run off of Oak Harbor's Ashley Riley to give the Flashes a 1-0 lead in Monday's Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division battle.
That must have lit a fire under the Oak Harbor bats as the Rockets used three long balls to overtake the Flashes early in the contest en route to an 11-1 victory.
Emily Lenke responded with a home run of her own in the bottom of the first to even the score before Riley and Kaytlynn Sandwisch sent shots over the outfield fence in the second inning as the Rockets led 5-1 after two innings of play.
Lenke and Riley would each finish with three RBIs while Sandwisch finished with two for the Rockets.
Oak Harbor finished with 11 hits in the contest as nine of them came from Lenke, Riley and Sandwisch.
Lauren St. Claire and Olivia Jensen added the other two hits.
