Blausey Earns Genoa's First Win

GENOA - Sara Blausey pitched six solid innings on Monday as Genoa blasted Toledo Central Catholic 15-5.

Surrendering just three hits and one earned run, Blausey struck out five Irish batters as the Comets' offense gave her plenty of support.

Caitlin Cruickshank, Kendall Gerke, and Amanda Partin all smacked three hits for Genoa's offense.

After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first, Genoa's Brooke Bryant scored on an error to make it 3-1.

In the second, Caitlin Gose stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball before scoring on a pop-fly by Kayla Satkowski.

Amanda Tucholski singled home Gerke later in the second to finish off a five run inning by Genoa as the Comets grabbed a 6-3 lead.

The Comets blew the game wide open in the fourth making it 13-3.

Partin had two doubles and three RBIs while Cruickshank and Gerke also drove in three runs.

Genoa (1-2 overall) will play at Clyde on Wednesday.
