OAK HARBOR - Lake scored six runs over the final two innings of Monday's opener at Oak Harbor High School to earn a tough 7-5 win over the Rockets.
Trailing 2-1 with two outs in the top of the sixth, the Flyers scored three straight runs to make it 4-2 Lake on three straight singles off of Aric McAtee.
Oak Harbor would come right back as Tyler Laughlin singled home Clay Schulte in the bottom of the sixth and Adam Ohms would drive in Schulte and Hunter Lacer to make it 5-4 in favor of the Rockets going into the final inning.
Lake would plate three runs in the seventh thanks to some crafty base stealing and an Oak Harbor error.
Ohms finished with two hits and four RBIs for the Rockets and a pair of stolen bases.
McAtee pitched six innings giving up seven hits, five earned runs, and striking out 12 Lake batters.
