CASTALIA - Oak Harbor's Clay Schulte scored 20 points on Friday as the Rockets defeated Margaretta 62-50 in Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division action.
The first half featured even play as Margaretta's Nick Leibacher was able to maneuver his way to the hoop several times and scoop in several key baskets.
Tate Smith made his presence felt for the Rockets in the opening quarter as Leibacher and Tate brought their teams to an even score at the half at 23-23.
Smith finished the game with 12 points for Oak Harbor and Leibacher had 11 for the Polar Bears (7-10, 4-6 SBC Bay).
With Margaretta hanging around, Oak Harbor outscored the Polar Bears 17-13 in the third quarter before pulling away in the fourth.
Schulte came up with several big defensive plays and drained four 3-pointers as the Rockets finished with eight long range shots in the contest.
Aric McAtee finished with 11 points and Alex Gezo had ten to round out the four Oak Harbor players that finished in double figures.
Oak Harbor improves to 14-4 overall and 7-3 in division play.
For Margaretta, in addition to Leibacher's 11, Bailey Kimberlin finished with 15 points and Dylan Morris contributed nine.
Margaretta will play at Port Clinton Tuesday and the Rockets will host New Riegel.
