WILLARD - It had been over a month since the Oak Harbor boys' basketball team had to play on the road.
On Thursday, the Rockets played their first away contest since December 27th at Willard High School and came away with a 61-52 victory sweeping the season series over their Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division foes.
Willard (3-12, 2-6 Bay Division) benefited from the play of Terry Baldridge and Brevon Polachek early in the contest as the Flashes trailed by just two points after the first quarter and were down just 28-22 at the half.
Baldridge and Polachek each tallied 14 points to lead Willard in scoring.
In the end, though, Oak Harbor was too much for Willard as three players finished in double figures.
Jac Alexander led the Rockets (13-3, 6-2 Bay Division) with 20 points while Clay Schulte finished with 13 points and Tate Smith added 11.
Oak Harbor will return to action on Saturday for a make-up contest at Edison. Freshmen tip off will be at 5 pm.
Willard will have a non-conference battle at Mansfield Madison on Saturday.
