Ross Hangs on for Win at Sandusky

SANDUSKY - Fremont Ross and Sandusky fans know you can throw out the records when the two rivals square off.

On Tuesday, a feisty Sandusky team gave the Little Giants a tough battle but Fremont Ross came out on top with a 56-43 win.

Brooklyn Baptista, who scored 16 points for Ross in the game, tickled the twine from 3-point range twice in the first quarter while her sister Olivia Baptista joined Jazmin Bulger with 3-pointers of their own as the Little Giants took a 19-12 lead.

The Blue Streaks (3-9 overall) received nine points in the first half from Marissa Esposito while Sandusky cut Fremont's lead to 27-22 at the half.

From there the Little Giants (9-3 overall) outscored Sandusky 29-21 to go on for the win.

Despite suffering an injury in the contest, Bulger finished with nine points, Olivia Baptista finished with 12 points, and Ahlia Simms added 11 for Ross.

The Little Giants will return to conference action on Thursday with a trip to Toledo Whitmer while Sandusky will play a divisional game at Bellevue on Saturday afternoon.
