OHSN Boys Power Poll #3

Woodmore (6-1) (Last Ranking #1) – Sitting idle this past week the Wildcats are preparing for Thursday’s game at Genoa.  We’ll see if the layoff pays off or if Woodmore will come out rusty.  Mitchell Miller currently leads the team with 21.7 points a game while Drew Burner is tossing in a shade over 14.

Oak Harbor (6-2) (Last Ranking #2) – The Rockets posted wins of 26 and 31 this past week while staying just one game behind Vermilion in the SBC Bay Division race.  Oak Harbor will play Margaretta on Thursday and Port Clinton on Saturday.  The “We > Me” motto in Oak Harbor this season is really proving to be true.  Five players are scoring 7.6 points a game or more.  Led by Tate Smith (12.5), Alex Gezo (11.6), Jac Alexander (10.8), Aric McAtee (9.4), and Clay Schulte (7.6) the Rockets are getting contributions from every part of the floor.

Bellevue (5-2) (Last Ranking #3) – Trey Ruhlman continues to be Bellevue’s biggest offensive threat while scoring 21.9 points a contest and Jake Waskielis is contributing 12.9 ppg.  The Redmen picked up a pair of wins over the past weekend as they edged Shelby by one and dropped Margaretta by 14.  This week Bellevue will play at Tiffin Columbian on Thursday and will host Clyde on Saturday.

Genoa (5-3) (Last Ranking #5) – After having its five game winning streak snapped by a very tough Anthony Wayne squad, the Comets have a big home game with Woodmore up next on its schedule.  Genoa will welcome the Wildcats on Thursday.  Jake Plantz is leading the Comets with an average of around 16 points a game while Drew Bench is contributing nearly 12 points a contest.

Margaretta (3-5) (Last Ranking #6) – Bailey Kimberlin, Nick Leibacher, and Dylan Morris are providing the offensive spark for the Polar Bears, but depth is really hurting the team.  Having lost three straight and five out of their last six, the Polar Bears are in jeopardy of falling too deep out of the division race.  Next up is surprise Oak Harbor.  The Rockets will host Margaretta on Thursday.

Fremont SJCC (4-3) (Last Ranking #7) – The Crimson Streaks currently have three players averaging in double figures.  Behind Chris Morrisette (14 ppg), Spencer Harrison (11.4 ppg), and Zach Wonderly Jr. (10.1 ppg), SJCC is currently tied for the SBC River Division lead.  This upcoming weekend the Crimson Streaks will play two non-conference games as they will travel to Hardin-Northern on Friday and Monroeville on Saturday.

Fremont Ross (2-5) (Last Ranking #13) – Fremont Ross picked up a pair of solid wins over the past weekend.  It started with a Maliek Johnson buzzer beater to knock off Lima Senior and followed with a win over Clyde on Saturday.  Bryce Root is now averaging 9.7 points a game to lead the Little Giants while Johnson (7.3 ppg), Jabryis Heidelburg (7.0 ppg), and Keyon Sewell (6.9 ppg) follow.  The only game this week for Ross will be Toledo Woodward on Saturday evening.

Clyde (3-4) (Last Ranking #4) – Two straight losses have caused Clyde to drop in our poll.  While the Fliers have three players averaging over ten points a game they are now slightly struggling to score points as a team.  Derick Harrah (13.4 ppg.), Camaron Farrar (12.7 ppg), and Seth Hohman (11.3 ppg) will try to get the team back on track this week as Clyde will host Sandusky SMCC on Thursday and then travel to Bellevue on Saturday.

9   Danbury (3-4) (Last Ranking #10) – Danbury notched a nice win against Monroeville on Saturday by 25 points and now turns it attention to Gibsonburg this Friday night at home.

10  Old Fort (3-5) (Last Ranking #8) – Losers of four straight, Old Fort will seek to get back on track this upcoming week as it hosts Lakota on Thursday and Tiffin Calvert on Saturday.  Jacob Webb is scoring 17.9 points a game through the first eight games of the season to lead the Stockaders in scoring.

11  Gibsonburg (2-5) (Last Ranking #9) – The Golden Bears had a tough two game swing in which they fell to Toledo Christian and Genoa.  On tap for this Friday is a game at Danbury.  Addison Weaver is averaging a shade under 21 points a contest while Josh Ernsthausen is contributing roughly 12 points a game.

12  Port Clinton (0-7) (Last Ranking #12) – Despite being the last team on our list to need a win, the Redskins’ schedule has been a little stronger than Lakota’s.  This is going to be a tough week for the Redskins as well as they host Edison on Thursday and play at Oak Harbor on Saturday.

13  Lakota (1-6) (Last Ranking #11) – Lakota has dropped five straight games including a 26 point loss to Oak Harbor and a 46 point loss to Lakota.  Injuries and suspensions have plagued the Raiders who are led by Tyler Gabel’s nine points a game.
