Knights Escape Woodmore with Win

ELMORE - Woodmore needed a big second half to overcome a nine point halftime deficit.

Mitchell Miller gave the Wildcats the spark they needed, but Otsego spoiled Woodmore's comeback and took home a 60-57 win on the road.

Trailing 32-23 at the half, Miller buried four 3-pointers in the third quarter and Drew Burner added five points in the quarter as the Wildcats drew even with the Knights at 43-43 entering the final quarter.

Miller led Woodmore with 17 points and Burner finished with 16 in the game.

In the fourth, Otsego benefited from a trio of 3-pointers, and Will Varner scored seven of his 14 points in the period as the Knights took a final lead with a little over a minute and a half remaining.

Otsego (2-1, 1-1 Northern Buckeye Conference) will travel to Delta on Saturday for a non-conference contest.

Woodmore, who falls to 3-1 (0-1 NBC), will host Hopewell-Loudon on Saturday.
