GENOA - The Eastwood girls' basketball team had four players tally double-digits on Tuesday as it went on the road in Northern Buckeye Conference action and earned a 66-39 win over Genoa.
Led by Jamie Schmeltz's 19 points, ten which came in the first quarter, the Eagles improved to 11-4, 7-2 NBC as they won their fifth straight game.
Eastwood raced to a 24-5 lead after one quarter of action as Kelley Turk and Sydnie Abke each added five points during the period.
Abke finished with ten points and Turk had seven in the game.
Genoa (3-11, 1-8 NBC) outscored the Eagles in the third by one point as Tatum Neumann scored six of her 14 points during the quarter.
Caitlin Cruickshank led the Comets with 18 points in the contest.
Hannah Owens finished with 14 points and Hannah Limes chipped in with 12 for the Eagles.
Eastwood will have a big challenge this Friday as it goes on the road to face conference leading Elmwood.
Up next for Genoa will be a road game at Otsego on Friday.
