GENOA - Thursday's Northern Buckeye Conference contest between Genoa and Woodmore came down to the final moments of the game.
The Comets rallied from six down at the half to make it a game, but Woodmore held on to take a 42-41 victory.
Woodmore (4-4, 2-3 NBC) took a 19-13 lead at the half as Nora LaMunyon tossed in a pair of 3-pointers on her way to a nine point performance.
Katie Brugger, who led the Wildcats with 16 points, scored nine of her points in the first half to aid Woodmore's early lead.
Meanwhile, the Comets mustered just two field goals in the opening half, both buckets by Caitlin Cruickshank.
Cruickshank led Genoa with 16 points, including two 3-pointers in the second half.
Rylee Fredericksen registered seven points for Genoa in the fourth quarter as the Comets rallied late in the loss.
Woodmore will return to action next Thursday when Ottawa Hills comes to town.
Genoa (1-7, 0-4 NBC) will play at Fostoria on January 2nd.
