GENOA - Genoa's Caitlin Cruickshank had fabulous first quarter.
Cruickshank hit two 3-pointers and added another basket to ignite the Comets' offense early on, but Otsego rallied in the final three quarters to win 57-37.
Genoa took an 18-11 lead after one quarter as Cruickshank scored eight of her 12 points in the opening period.
Tatum Neumann also had a great start to the game as she scored all six of her points early on for the Comets.
Genoa (1-6, 0-3 Northern Buckeye Conference) held Otsego to just three field goals in the first quarter.
The Knights (3-2, 2-1 NBC) then used a five point second quarter from Holly Roe and baskets from Madison Dzierwa and Ellie Roberts to chip back at Genoa's lead.
Otsego outscored the Comets by four in the second and trailed 26-23 at the half.
Things then turned sour for the Comets as Otsego used a 20-5 third quarter advantage to pull away from Genoa.
The Knights connected on five 3-pointers in the quarter, led by a pair of long range shots from Dzierwa.
Dzierwa finished with eight points for Otsego while Brynne Limes led the team with 14 points and Kylie Brinkman finished with ten.
Brinkman made two 3-pointers in the third and added another bucket for Otsego.
Genoa will return to action on Thursday when it will host Woodmore. Otsego will host Fostoria on Friday.
